Summary: Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Join a team of imaging professionals supporting Memorial Healthcare System’s six acute care hospitals. Work side by side with department staff across multiple facilities, delivering high-quality care where it’s needed most. Requirements

• Accredited Program: Surgical Technologist (Required)
• BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Two (2) years' of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Passes instruments to physician during surgery.
• Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Demonstrates flexibility and competency to provide patient care throughout the South Broward Hospital District to a variety of patient populations.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Assists nurse with patient care.
• Assists in decontamination, preparation and sterilization of instruments in sterile processing.
• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.
