Corewell Health is offering up to $10,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity. The unit is a Level 3 trauma center with 15 operating rooms in the Magnet Designated Corewell Health System, which is a center of excellence for bariatrics and total joints. Approximately 40% of cases are comprised of total joints and elective spine cases, with the remaining 60% consisting of General, Colon/Rectal, Urology, Bariatric, Plastic, and ENT surgeries. Blodgett Surgery is a high-tech environment equipped with 3 Davinci robots, a Mako robot, Mazor, and Stealth technology. The OR fosters a team environment where Nurses, Surgical Technologists, and Surgery Support Staff collaborate to care for patients and support surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout surgical procedures. The Blodgett OR team also serves as the patient advocate while the patient is under anesthesia, requiring precise, critical thinking, often within a short time frame, while prioritizing cost-effective quality care and patient safety. Blodgett Hospital, established in 1846, has a history of providing high quality, compassionate, and personalized medical care. It is set within a quiet, beautifully maintained property of mature trees and healing gardens. The hospital provides patient-focused inpatient care in 248 private patient rooms and outpatient services for medical, surgical, and specialty care, achieving high rates of patient satisfaction. The Surgical Technologist maintains responsibility for preparation of the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during surgical procedures, making appropriate responses as needed. They are responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and principles related to those procedures and may serve as a Preceptor.
