Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Meet at least one of the following:
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent.
Certified Surgical Tech (CST).
1+ years of prior operating room experience.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Tech handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
