About The Position
What You'll Do: Prepare and organizes the operating room, equipment, instruments and supplies per the manufacturer’s instructions for use as required for various surgical procedures; Adheres to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment Anticipates and provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedure(s) Performs sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy. Prepares patient specimens and medications of sterile field according to policy. Sets up and maintains an organized sterile field. Utilizes proper body mechanics in moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and/or tables in order to prevent injury to self, patient and other personnel. Prepares sterile dressings as needed Provide circulator with product packaging information for appropriate patient charging Cleans and prepares surgical instruments for processing and transports them to the decontamination area Assists with post procedure cleaning of the operative or other invasive procedure room and preparation of room for subsequent patients What You'll Bring/Requirements: Diploma/certificate from an approved Surgical Technologist program, an Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology, or an Associate’s Degree in other healthcare related field Maintain continuous certification in American Heart Association’s BLS. Surgical Tech diploma/certification or an Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology, or an Associate’s Degree or higher degree in a healthcare related field. Requirements
- Diploma/certificate from an approved Surgical Technologist program, an Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology, or an Associate’s Degree in other healthcare related field
- Maintain continuous certification in American Heart Association’s BLS
