About The Position

Performs scrub nurse duties for surgical cases and assists registered nurse in caring for the surgical patient. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills of aseptic techniques. Must demonstrate knowledge of surgical instrumentation, supplies and equipment. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient being served.

Requirements

Graduate from a Surgical Technology program accredited by the committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or previous surgical technology experience.
Currently certified surgical technologist in the state of GA as verified by primary source of verification.
BLS CPR required.
0-3 year experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist or previous surgical technology experience.
Manual dexterity to handle multitude of OR instruments.
Ability to obtain and interpret pertinent information in terms of the patients needs that are age appropriate.
Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for age group of patient served.
