About The Position

Aspirus Langlade Hospital in Antigo, WI is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our team! HOURS : Full Time or .8 FTE, 64 hours every pay period, day shift. Call & holiday rotation. The Surgical Technologist collaborates with all surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist is an integral part of the surgical team working closely with all other members of the team in the delivery of patient care, pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operatively. The surgical technologist is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures and demonstrates knowledge of sterile technique. Surgical technologists also promote education of self, peers, and students. In the surgical environment, the surgical technologist's role is to provide care for patients over the continuum of their life span.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge and application of aseptic technique, surgical principles, procedures, and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrates understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and microbiology.
  • Ability to organize work, maintain good interpersonal relationships, function under stress, and work as part of a surgical team.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify the needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients. This knowledge and skills may be acquired through education, training, or experience.
  • Knowledge of surgical standards and practices acquired through graduation of a Surgical Technologist program required.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
