Surgical Technologist, Baptist Jacksonville
About The Position
We are looking for Surgical Technologists (CSTs) specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), Neurosurgery, and General Surgery to join our dynamic Surgical Services teams across multiple Baptist Health campuses - including Baptist Medical Center South, Baptist Jacksonville (Downtown), Baptist Beaches, Baptist Clay, and Baptist Nassau in the Jacksonville, Florida area. We have full-time opportunities available at all locations. A Surgical Technologist in this role will work as part of the Surgical Services and Operating Room teams in the Main OR. This individual will assist the surgical team during procedures, ensure a sterile environment, hand instruments to surgeons, and maintain patient safety. Between surgeries, responsibilities include cleaning and restocking the operating room. Throughout the day, precision, attention to detail, and teamwork are paramount in providing quality patient care.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program (CAAHEP or ABHES)
- OR previous experience working in an Operating Room (OR) setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) NCCT Required Or
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Required Or
Nice To Haves
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT preferred, but not required
- 1-2 years Surgical Services Experience
- Orthopedics
- Experience in Neuro
- Experience in Open Heart Procedures
Responsibilities
- Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and the progression of the case
- Properly handle specimens and instruments
- Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
- Call is required
