About The Position

Aspire Rural Health Systems is seeking a Surgical Technologist in our OR department. We are looking for those who have a great attitude to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals who are constantly striving to provide the highest quality of services for our patient.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligibility to obtain certification or at least 5 years experience as an uncertified scrub tech
• If not certified-obtain certification within two years
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Experience working in a hospital or surgical center setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills developed through prior clinical experience

Nice To Haves

• Advanced certifications such as Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist utilizes their knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures daily to prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team efficiently.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential to manage surgical instruments and supplies accurately, ensuring nothing is missing or contaminated.
• Effective communication skills enable the technologist to anticipate and respond promptly to the needs of surgeons and nurses during procedures.
• Problem-solving abilities are important when addressing equipment malfunctions or unexpected situations in the operating room.
• Additionally, teamwork and adaptability are critical as the technologist collaborates with diverse healthcare professionals to maintain a safe and effective surgical environment.
