About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a Surgical Technologist at The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. This new opportunity allows the technician to focus on quality patient care in an environment focused on compassionate service and mutual respect.
Position Highlights:
06:30-17:00 with rotating day off (4 10 hour shifts)

Requirements

• Hold current national certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• Graduate from a Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
• Have completed an appropriate training program for surgical technologists in the armed forces, at a CAAHEP accredited hospital or CAAHEP ambulatory surgical treatment center program, or complete the surgical technologists LCC-ST certifying exam within 18 months from the date of hire
• BLS
• 18 months of recent surgical experience
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residence

Responsibilities

• Perform sterile techniques, set up surgical trays, prepare and drape patients for surgery, and assist with post-operative dressings
• Ensure surgical packs are cleaned and packed for sterilization after every procedure
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for the patient by actively cleaning clinical spaces, operating rooms, and medical equipment or guiding other personnel in environmental maintenance
