About The Position

The UW Medical Center-Northwest Outpatient Surgery Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Surgical Technologist. Requirements

  • Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Nice To Haves

  • Competitive candidates will have certification as scrub technologist and/or six months of experience as an Operating Room Technician in a hospital operating room or childbirth center

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures
  • Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment
  • Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room
