If this resonates with you, consider joining our Surgery Team in the following role: Role: Per Diem Surgical Technologist Schedule: 8-hour and 10-hour Day shifts, variable day shifts to provide additional staffing as needed ORs: 2 OR suites Additional information: no weekend shifts and no call requirement Hospital: 25-bed critical access hospital that's part of a mission driven healthcare system Compensation: our wage range is $38.22 - $57.34, plus an additional 15% per diem Differential in lieu of benefits. Job Summary This position is responsible for assisting the Surgical team during operative procedures by performing a variety of technical duties to primarily assist in responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the surgical sterile field for the operative patient.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology school or recognized course of training as a Surgical Technologist required.
- Registered Surgical Technologist in Washington State
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
- One year experience as Surgical Technologist in full service operating room preferred.
Nice To Haves
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Arrange and inventories sterile set-up for operation and passes items as needed to the surgical team.
- Understand and the principles of asepsis. Establish and maintain sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment.
- Assist in preparation and moving of patients.
- Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation. Assists with clean-up and room turnover.
- Accessputer information as needed, such as preference lists and digital images.
- Participates in all safety initiatives. Ads to programs such as SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives.
