Requirements
- Active Surgical Technologist CO license
- BLS (AHA)
- 1+ years of experience
- PED to GERI experience
Responsibilities
- Apply sterile and aseptic techniques in accordance with AORN standards during surgical procedures
- Ensure proper packaging, sterilization, integrity, and expiration of all surgical supplies and instruments
- Maintain a safe operating room environment and verify proper function of equipment
- Monitor and protect the sterile field, identifying and reporting contamination risks as needed
- Demonstrate competency or progression toward competency in Tier 1 surgical cases
- Support individualized patient care within scope of practice with flexibility and professionalism
- Communicate effectively with the perioperative team and fully participate in Time Out, briefings, and debriefings
- Assist with patient transport, room setup, room turnover, and preparation
- Maintain professional standards, including staying current with surgical technologies, equipment, and procedures
- Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
- Model the principles of a Just Culture
- Perform additional assigned duties in compliance with HIPAA requirements
