About The Position

In a single day, staff from 4 specialty based teams work within 16 Operating Room Suites to handle as many as 40 cases ranging from Cardiothoracic, Neuro/Orthopedics/Dental, General/Vascular/ ENT, GYN, Urology, to Plastics surgery. Waukesha Memorial Hospitals Operating Rooms average 8,500 procedures annually including da Vinci Robotic procedures performed within more specialties routinely than any other facility in SE Wisconsin. The OR suite also includes a newly built Hybrid OR and a fully integrated Minimally Invasive Robotic room. Surgical Technologist functions as the scrub person. Works under the direct supervision of an RN or physician to facilitate safe and effective care during invasive and operative procedures. They ensure that the OR is safe, equipment is functioning properly and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Facilitates a physician's performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (CST) preferred or equivalent military training.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital operating room setting.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain upon hire
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a surgical technologist in the same area or in similar day-to-day situations in a hospital operating room setting.
