Overview $20,000 Sign on Bonus Available New Grad Surgical Technologist IP Pay is $27.00/hour Surgical Technolgist - Springfield Memorial Hospital -- Previous surgical technologist experience and/or completion of a Surgical Technologist program is REQUIRED -- The Main Operationg Room Surgical Technologist performs “scrub” technologist duties for scheduled surgeries in the Main Operating Room, and assists with the draping and utilization of instruments for a particular surgery and age of the patient serviced. Demonstrates knowledge in the basic principles of sterile technique and sterilization procedures. Clinical ladder advancement opportunities available. National certification and CPR certification are required within 6 months of graduation from recognized program, or within 6 months start date of employment. Licensure/Certification/Registry: Maintains current CPR certification Surgical Technologist Certification preferred at all Memorial locations, but is required at Decatur Memorial. Experience: Previous experience in multiple surgical specialties is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Performs duties in capacity of “scrub” technologist as prescribed by hospital policies and procedures.
- Assists in maintenance of safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assists in the orderly function of the OR.
- Initiates appropriate intraoperative behaviors unique to first assistant, if trained to do so.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
