The Surgical Technologist provides safe and efficient care to the surgical patient under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in collaboration with the surgeon. This role primarily functions in the scrub role, taking responsibility for selecting, preparing, and maintaining instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. The Surgical Technologist must possess knowledge in the application of sterile and aseptic technique and be capable of adapting to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting. As a member of the surgical team, the technologist utilizes knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation, and technology. The hospital in Jacksonville features state-of-the-art facilities, including 34 operating rooms, an IMRI OR suite, and a dedicated endovascular OR suite, utilizing modern equipment and advanced technology to blend healing with medical science.
