About The Position
Provides surgical care to patients within the operating room under the supervision of perioperative nurses and/or surgeons. Utilizes AORN standards, recommended practices, and guidelines' as a reference to ensure quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care. Education Graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program. Certification required to obtain: Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire. Certification preferred from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Experience A minimum of 1 year experience as a surgical technologist.

- Certification preferred from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
Responsibilities
- Plans for surgical procedures by assembling instrumentation, equipment, and necessary supplies.
- Maintains the integrity of the sterile field by utilizing knowledge of aseptic technique.
- Assists surgeon and physician assist (P.A.) with activities at the sterile field.
- Participates and engages in center activities.
- Functions as a leader for surgical team.
- Performs sterilization of equipment.
- Assists with maintaining a clean and safe surgical environment.
- Pro actively plans and participates in requirements for surgical case.
- Helps to contain supply costs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
