About The Position

Provides patient care duties perioperatively for patients of all ages, infants through adults under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Serves primarily as a scrub technologist. Also functions as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse. Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology, military experience, recent experience as a surgical technologist, or two years of clinical surgical technology experience at Catawba Valley Medical Center with no degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a surgical assistant in multiple specialties.
  • Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.

Nice To Haves

  • BCLS certification from the American Heart Association.
