Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manger Peri-Operative Services, the Surgical Technologist (ST)is a staff member that possesses knowledge in the application of sterile and aseptic technique and has a good working understanding of the functioning of instruments and all equipment utilized in the operating room and central sterile. The ST utilizes knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation and technology as a member of the surgical team. The ST will scrub a variety of surgical specialties, as necessary, to provide care to surgical patients.

Requirements

  • Must be at least18 years of age.
  • Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
  • Maintains current CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or other approved educational programs.
  • Proven ability to communicate with a variety of people in a direct, empathetic and articulate manner.
  • Must have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Must have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job.
  • Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting.
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds.
  • Language proficiency in English

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Surgical Technologist experience in Ortho, General, OB/GYN, Podiatry and GI.
  • Two years successful surgical technologist experience in acute care, perioperative or surgical setting within the last 5 years
