About The Position

The Surgical Technologist in Vascular Surgery at Baxter Health is responsible for assisting in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons and other surgical personnel. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Baxter Health's surgical technologist training program or 1 year of experience as a surgical technologist.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons and surgical personnel.
• Set up the operating room and prepare patients for surgery.
• Adjust lights and equipment as needed during procedures.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants during surgery.
• Hold retractors and cut sutures as directed by the surgeon.
• Count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Provide direct patient care in the perioperative unit.
• Adhere to all standards of perioperative care and promote teamwork among co-workers.
