About The Position

The Surgical Tech PRN Days position involves assisting the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. The surgical tech ensures that the operating suite is adequately prepared for the procedures and that all instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and functioning properly. Additionally, the surgical tech assists the anesthesiologist when blocks are required for surgery and participates in department staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: College, military or vocational training required.
• Minimum Experience: 1 to 2 years of job-related experience is preferred.
• Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: Certified Surgical Technology recognized by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• BLS required.
