About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support Surgical Services in a fast-paced Operating Room setting. The Surgical Tech will assist surgeons and registered nurses during a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited civilian or military Surgical Technology program.
  • National Certification (NBSTSA) required within 12 months of graduation and must be maintained.
  • Certification must be from a nationally accredited certifying body recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists.
  • Current BLS Certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, infection control principles, and sterile techniques.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Orthopedic experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up the operating room with surgical instruments, sterile drapes, equipment, and solutions.
  • Maintain sterile field in accordance with hospital policies and AORN standards.
  • Perform scrub technician duties across multiple surgical specialties (Ortho experience strongly preferred).
  • Pass instruments and sterile supplies to the surgeon and surgical assistants during procedures.
  • Assist with retraction, cutting sutures, sponge/needle/instrument counts, and specimen handling.
  • Prepare, label, and manage medications under the direction of the surgeon and RN during procedures.
  • Assemble, inspect, and ensure proper functioning of sterile and non-sterile equipment.
  • Assist with patient transport, positioning, and transfer to recovery.
  • Support room turnover, restocking, and equipment readiness for subsequent cases.
  • Operate lights, suction, sterilizers, and other OR equipment as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and sterilization standards.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and ongoing professional development.
  • Promote teamwork and deliver patient-centered care with professionalism and respect.
