About The Position

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting with the care and preparation of the surgical patient and the operating room under the direct supervision of an operating room RN. The Surgical Technologist has responsibility for the assembly, set-up, and use of surgical instrumentation and equipment during surgical procedures. Work situations are primarily routine but may change rapidly to an emergent or critical situation, and may require both directed and independent decision-making depending on the nature of the situation.

Requirements

• Current Washington State Surgical Technologist Registration required.
• National certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Current BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the care and preparation of the surgical patient and the operating room.
• Assemble, set-up, and use surgical instrumentation and equipment during surgical procedures.
• Adapt to changing work situations, including emergent or critical situations.
• Make directed and independent decisions as required by the situation.
