About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens Hospital provides a full range of surgical treatments across 21 Operating Rooms using cutting edge techniques and technologies including complex colorectal surgery, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, advanced open and endovascular surgery for aortic aneurysms, and robotic urologic surgery. You will function as a scrub person, circulation assistant, and member of the surgical team. You will assist in the care, preparation, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in the Operating Room.

Requirements

• Certified Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification (NBSTSA) or if a new graduate, must supply exam date prior to start of employment.
• Certification must be obtained within six months of hire and complete a probationary period of six (6) months from date of hire.
• Completion of a certified Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Technician or comparable training program or experience as an O.R. Technician/Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of Perioperative Nursing Practice & Patient Care.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as an OR/Surgical Tech in an acute care setting.
