About The Position

As a Surgical Tech Certified Cardiovascular with LewisGale Medical Center, you will be part of an organization devoted to giving back to the community. You will have the opportunity to scrub cases related to the unit's scope of care, maintain a sterile field, and assist the Registered Nurse with circulating duties. Your role will involve organizing the operating room, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, and ensuring a safe environment for personnel and patients. You will also be responsible for mentoring new personnel and maintaining open communication with team members.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
• 3+ years of experience in Surgical Technology (preferred).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Certified Surgical Technician - VA.

Responsibilities

• Scrub cases as it relates to the unit's scope of care.
• Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
• Assist the Registered Nurse with circulating duties.
• Organize the operating room with instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical anatomy and instrumentation.
• Label all medications on the sterile field.
• Perform preps independently.
• Communicate effectively with staff, peers, and physicians.
• Mentor new personnel and participate in in-services.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
