Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Certified Surgical Technology program.
• Must be certified through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Active BLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience as a Labor and Delivery Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Combine knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and the use of tools and technology to support the physician or CNM during labor and delivery.
• Set up surgical instruments and equipment and maintain sterility.
• Assist with preparing patients for the operating room or delivery.
• Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and assist with holding retractors and other instruments.
• Maintain inventory in all delivery and operating rooms.
• Perform key clerical duties, including accurately entering patient orders, maintaining up-to-date delivery logs, and conducting daily patient census checks.
