About The Position

The Surgical Technologist Internship at Rochester Regional Health is designed for students enrolled in accredited Surgical Technology programs. This 6-week paid internship provides hands-on experience in various surgical settings, enhancing students' education and facilitating their transition into the surgical profession. Interns will work 40 hours a week and participate in weekly educational and networking opportunities.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an accredited Surgical Technology Program
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year patient care and/or operating room experience in an accredited hospital preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Demonstrate understanding of aseptic techniques

Responsibilities

• Rotate through and learn Anesthesia procedures
• Assist in Surgical Case Preparation
• Practice Sterile Technique
• Perform Surgical Scrub, Donning & Doffing of Sterile Scrub Attire
• Handle Surgical Instruments
• Learn about Sterilization processes
