Requirements

• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience is preferred.
• Graduate of a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for Surgical Technologists.
• Certified Surgical Technologist Credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization (e.g. NCCT - National Center for Competency Testing, etc.).
• Must annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a Surgical Technologist in NJ.

Responsibilities

• Assist in specific service areas in the Surgical Suite under the direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or physician.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Handle instruments and supplies during surgery as directed by the surgical team.
• Ensure the operating room is properly equipped and ready for procedures.
