About The Position

HSHS is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist First Assist to join our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, WI. This role requires a patient-focused, mission-driven professional skilled in providing intraoperative assistance to surgical teams. The ideal candidate is proficient in preparing and monitoring surgical equipment, maintaining a sterile environment, assisting with patient positioning and transfer, and performing advanced surgical techniques to support optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associates degree in surgical technology is preferred.
  • Graduate or successful completion of accredited Surgical Technology or Surgical First Assist program or has successfully completed military training in surgical technology is required.
  • Military documentation to establish education includes a DD214 demonstrating graduation from a military training program.
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) issued by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is required.
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) issued by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), certification as a Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) issued by the National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA), OR Surgical Assistant, Certified (SA-C) issued by American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA) is required (for hires/transfers after March 2025).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in surgical technology is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in surgical services is preferred.
