About The Position

The Surgical Technologist position at the Day Surgery Center Operating Room in Arlington Heights, IL, is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, specifically from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. The position offers an hourly pay range of $24.86 to $37.29, determined by the candidate's expertise and years of experience. A sign-on bonus of $2,500 is also included. The role involves identifying and obtaining the necessary surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures, as well as performing scrub responsibilities according to physician preferences and hospital policies. The Surgical Technologist must demonstrate skills to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with patients of all ages.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved surgical technology program.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and obtain required surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies based on physician requests and patient needs.
• Inspect, care for, and handle surgical instrumentation and equipment appropriately.
• Perform scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies.
• Anticipate and attend to the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc. during surgical procedures.
• Demonstrate skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with patients of all age groups.
