Functions as a member of the surgical team creating and maintaining a sterile field. Knowledgeable about instruments, supplies and equipment used during a surgical procedure. Understands the procedure being performed and has the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs. Provides care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Current Washington State registration as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Current national certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one-year recent surgical experience preferred.
