Job Title: Surgical Technologist Apprentice - Surgical Services Cost Center: 301351311 MfdHos-Surgical Svcs Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: Variable (United States of America) Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Surgical Technologist Apprentice works under the direct supervision of a precepting Surgical Technologist while completing an employer sponsored surgical technologist program through MedCerts. The Surgical Technologists Apprentice will collaborate with the precepting Surgical Technologist to provide a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patient and staff by working in accordance with Marshfield Medical Center standards of practice and by adhering to Marshfield Medical Center policies/procedures, universal precautions, and sterile technique. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Enrollment in the MedCerts Surgical technologist program and completion of the three course program and sit for the NCCT TC C exam. Preferred/Optional: None EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: None Preferred/Optional: None CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Completion of the MedCerts program coursework and clinical experience within eight months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Requirements
