About The Position

The Surgical Tech II position is a full-time role at an Outpatient Surgery Center, working Monday through Friday from 6:45 am to 3:15 pm. The primary responsibilities include assisting the surgeon(s) by providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques for procedures performed in the Operating Room, as well as providing patient care in the clinical setting. Additionally, the Surgical Tech II is responsible for the care, handling, and maintenance of basic surgical equipment and instrumentation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of surgical technologist program.
• Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span.
• In-depth knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes.
• Knowledge of computer programs used in perioperative services.
• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn new methods, procedures, and techniques resulting from departmental or organization change.
• Adapts quickly and easily to change and adjusts behavior and approach to work when necessary to achieve goals.
• Certification from NBSTSA, NCCT, or AST within 1 year of date of hire/transfer.
• BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
