About The Position
St. John's Surgery Center, an affiliate of Eye Health America, is a growing, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. Our focus is on excellence in patient care and creating an exceptional customer/patient experience. We are seeking a certified surgical technician to join our team and assist with surgical procedures. The successful candidate will have a great eye for detail, be highly organized, and possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited surgical technician program preferred
- Certification as a surgical technician (CST) preferred
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques
- Understanding of surgical procedures and protocols
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours and on-call shifts
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery and maintain a sterile environment
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures and anticipate their needs
- Prepare and handle surgical instruments and equipment
- Monitor patient vital signs during surgery
- Manage and dispose of surgical waste and material
- Coordinate with other medical staff to ensure quality patient care
