Surgical Technician

About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technician to join our team at a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC). The Surgical Technician will assist surgeons, nurses, and other operating room staff in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care. The ideal candidate has strong sterile technique, excellent teamwork skills, and prior experience in an outpatient surgical environment.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- 2+ years of surgical technician experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center or operating room
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS certification required
Nice To Haves
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures
- Set up operating rooms with appropriate surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
- Ensure proper handling, counting, and documentation of surgical instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control standards
- Assist with room turnover between cases to ensure efficient workflow
- Monitor and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
- Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
