Surgical Technician
About The Position
The Surgical Technician provides technical assistance to the physician during surgical and diagnostic procedures. This role involves preparing instruments, stocking the operating room, and monitoring equipment before, during, and after surgery. The Surgical Technician is expected to have an understanding of the procedures being performed, provide patient care to surgical patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, and collaborate closely with OR staff to deliver comprehensive, quality patient care. Adherence to proper infection control practices and the use of personal protective equipment are also key aspects of the position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a Surgical Technician program, eligible for certification (to become certified within six months of hire)
- BLS certification
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 1 year directly related experience is preferred but willing to consider new graduates
- Experience in EPIC computer system
Responsibilities
