This job assists in procedures competently and professionally, ensures appropriate handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and ensures availability of equipment and supplies for surgical procedures. Scrubs for surgical procedures and performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse (RN). Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and graduate from an accepted course in surgical technology certification.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good time management skills and ability to be self directed.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting.
  • Basic analytical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs direct patient care duties, including assisting physicians during procedures.
  • Assists in the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, equipment, training, and credentials.
  • Adapts to change in a positive constructive manner.
  • Ensures cleanliness and/disinfection of endoscopes while maintaining quality control measures.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
