About The Position

Surgical Technician (Scrub Tech) Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Perform specified suture removals Review consents and update as deemed necessary in coordination with patient care specialist/medical asst. Participate in flow on consultation days, escorting patients to consultation rooms, beginning the taking of history and physical, and accompanying Dr. during consultation and examinations. Triage Calls, clear daily patient medical questions from message log and discuss with senior nurse. When necessary, facilitate follow up appointments. Alert Patient Care Manager with any patient concerns or complaints. Maintain accurate and complete patient records by ensuring all patient calls and responses are documented in NexTech. Log pictures and file pictures into patient charts along with patient care specialist/medical asst. Fax orders to hospital f/u on mammograms/x-rays f/u on medical clearance f/u on labs f/u on implant orders Assist with in-office procedures Ensure that all consents are signed Sterilize instruments & maintain sterile environment in OR Set up room with equipment and/or tray with procedure items Help monitor, position & re-position patients during surgery Provide supportive care during pre- & post-operative phase Collect & properly label specimens taken during procedure Take count of surgical instruments & supplies prior to & at the end of each procedure Perform scrub functions Stock rooms with supplies & confirm physical receipt of medical supplies ordered. Keep examination rooms clean, remove biomed waste to collection area, ensure bio med waste pickup in a timely, appropriate manner & in accordance with all federal, state & departmental safety protocols. Alert patient care manager of any patient surgery scheduling questions or issues. Make sure consent forms are well stocked with extra copies Assist with room and patient preparation for facial rejuvenation services including, but not limited to Botox and fillers, Laser, Skincare, Assist with monthly physical medical supply inventory Skills & Abilities: Skilled in aseptic technique Well versed in medical technology Highly organized & able to efficiently multi-task Sound anatomy knowledge Able to communicate clearly & succinctly

Requirements

  • Surgical Technician certification preferred
  • BLS, CPR certification required
  • Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant, recent experience (not including clinicals), preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Current state-issued license preferred
  • Skilled in aseptic technique
  • Well versed in medical technology
  • Highly organized & able to efficiently multi-task
  • Sound anatomy knowledge
  • Able to communicate clearly & succinctly
