Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent is required
BLS CPR certification is required
Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program, including clinical experience, is required
A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Surgical Technician is required
Experience required: Total Joints, Ortho Spine, Neuro, ENT, Ophthalmology (vitrectomy), robotics

Nice To Haves

Certified by The Association of Surgical Technologists, The National Board of Surgical Technology, or The Surgical Assisting Liaison Council Certificate of Surgical Technology is preferred

Responsibilities

Perform duties in the Operating Room to assist the surgical team, such as scrubbing on operative procedures, obtaining and preparing instruments and equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe surgical environment under the direction of an RN.
Perform all patient care activities as defined in the skills competency model with compassion, dignity, and respect.
Maintain aseptic technique 100% of the time.
Demonstrate proficiency in gowning and gloving.
Consistently prepare appropriate supplies and equipment based upon procedural and/or surgeon preference list.
Check equipment and instrumentation for proper function prior to procedure.
Perform as first scrub.
Prepare room for next patient.
Prepare instruments for decontamination.
Maintain safe and clean environment 100% of the time.
