About The Position

The Surgical Technologist supports the safe, efficient, and effective performance of surgical procedures by assisting the surgical team before, during, and after operations. This role helps ensure patient safety and quality outcomes in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. The Certified Surgical Technologist reports to the Director of Surgery/Operating Room. Requirements

  • Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and patient safety
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Graduate of a surgical technology program preferred
  • Minimum of six (6) months prior experience in a surgical setting preferred
  • National CST Certification from (NBSTSA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room by setting up instruments, equipment, and supplies
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures
  • Safely handle instruments, supplies, and equipment
  • Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transport as needed
  • Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the surgical team
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team and document as required
