About The Position

We are a thriving private facial and body plastic surgery center seeking an experienced Surgical Technician to join our growing team. The Surgical Technician will assist the surgeon by providing and controlling surgical instruments and equipment during surgery. Ensures that instruments and supplies are cleaned, sterilized and available as needed. Provides hands on assisting with procedures. In addition, the surgical assistant will assist the surgeon in day-to-day clinic flow when needed.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
• CST (Certified Surgical Technician) required.

Nice To Haves

• Plastic Surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Opens sterile supplies and sets up for each procedure.
• Performs medical assisting duties which may include, but are not limited to, vital signs, height and weight, and assisting during excisions and surgical procedures. Ensures that all patient care areas are clean, organized, stocked and ready for patient use daily.
• Assists surgeon during procedure according to prescribed standards. Assists and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• Takes appropriate photographs of patients as directed by surgeon for pre and post documentation.
• Sterilize and package instruments in accordance with industry standards.
• Communicates with patients, other teammates and the general public in a courteous, helpful manner by phone and in person.
• Provided demonstrated competency and supervisory agreement is in place.
• Assist with OSHA daily and monthly checks. Must have the ability to correctly maintain the OSHA log.
• Complete suture inventory and check rooms for expiring inventory.
• Will also complete Medical Assistant and other clinical responsibilities as needed, based on the needs of the center.
