About The Position

A ST (often called a scrub tech) works as a part of a surgical team in Operating Rooms as well as in the Labor and Delivery unit. Surg Tech's provide curtail support to a surgeon such as preparing for surgery, passing instruments, providing needed supplies such as sponges, receiving and containing tissue, and much more. Surg Tech's generally work in a hospital and/or outpatient clinic setting.

Requirements

• High School education is required
• Optional certification to become a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Completion of an exam through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NBSTSA)
• OB/GYN experience
• Exposure to cystoscopy procedures and cerclages
