A Surgical Technician (often called a scrub tech) works as a part of a surgical team in Operating Rooms as well as in the Labor and Delivery unit. Surgical Technologists provide crucial support to a surgeon such as preparing for surgery, passing instruments, providing needed supplies such as sponges, receiving and containing tissue, and much more. Surgical Technologists generally work in a hospital and/or outpatient clinic setting.
