Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of current surgical technologist experience required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification and Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certifications are required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program is required.
• Successful completion of Periop101 during CHA orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care according to Cambridge Health Alliance, the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses, and the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates standards of nursing practice and the Surgical Technologist role expectations.
• Assist the surgical provider and circulating nurse through preparation and assistance with surgical procedures.
• Prepare surgical equipment and provide equipment to surgeons during surgery.
• Maintain the integrity of the sterile environment within the operating room.
• Complete other tasks as appropriate.
• Assist patients in reaching their health care goals.
• Cross coverage between 1 Cabot and Everett Hospital is required for training and low census.
• On call responsibilities as needed in Everett or for nights, weekends, and holidays.
