About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a surgical technology training program or equivalent experience in a surgical environment.
  • Basic knowledge of surgical instruments, aseptic techniques, and operating room procedures.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle surgical equipment safely.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working as a surgical technician or in an operating room setting.
  • Familiarity with WRMC policies and procedures related to surgical services.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to pursue certification as a Surgical Technologist in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies according to the specific requirements of each procedure.
  • Assist surgical staff during operations by passing instruments and supplies, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and maintaining the sterile field.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, cleaned, and maintained before and after procedures.
  • Monitor and restock surgical supplies and equipment to maintain readiness for upcoming surgeries.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and safety guidelines to maintain a sterile and safe operating environment.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of surgical cases.
  • Document surgical procedures and instrument usage accurately as required by hospital policies.
