About the position

The Surgical Technician will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of Surgeons, Registered Nurses, and Surgical Assistants. This role involves organizing and managing the daily functions of the operating room in accordance with established Federal, State, and accreditation standards, as well as company policies and procedures. The Surgical Technician will support Nurses and Surgeons in delivering the highest standard of patient care available.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in surgical operations under supervision.
  • Organize and manage daily functions of the operating room.
  • Prepare surgical instruments and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures.
  • Maintain records of medications and specimens used during surgery.
  • Participate in continuing education and staff meetings.
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and draping.
  • Clean and restock the operating room after procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of hospital main operating room experience preferred.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technician preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  • Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Amkai Charts Database software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word.
