About The Position

The preceptor is an experienced staff member, who possesses excellent clinical skills and is essential to the development and promotion of critical thinking for the new staff member. The preceptor serves as a role model, educator and resource person to assist the new staff member with a successful orientation to the unit and organization.

Requirements

• Possess excellent clinical skills
• Demonstrate respectful, effective communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and staff
• Demonstrate ability to effectively problem solve in difficult situations
• Demonstrate and encourage open communication and teamwork throughout organization
• Ability to utilize resources effectively
• Ability to introduce, interpret, and practice protocols, policies and standards
• Willingness to share expertise and knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values
• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 6 months clinical experience preferred
