Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center in Baltimore, MD is hiring for a Surgical Technician. 13 week contract assignment 4-10 hour work schedule, with a rotating day off Shift is from 7a-530p No on-call or weekends.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• BLS CPR certification is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program including clinical experience is required.
• Minimum of 4 years experience as a Surgical Technician is required.

Nice To Haves

• Certified by The Association of Surgical Technologists.
• Certified by The National Board of Surgical Technology.
• Certified by The Surgical Assisting Liaison Council Certificate of Surgical Technology is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team in the Operating Room under the direction of an RN.
• Scrub on operative procedures.
• Obtain and prepare instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe surgical environment.
• Perform all patient care activities as defined in the skills competency model with compassion, dignity, and respect.
• Maintain aseptic technique 100% of the time.
• Demonstrate proficiency in gowning and gloving.
• Prepare appropriate supplies and equipment based upon procedural and/or surgeon preference list.
• Check equipment and instrumentation for proper function prior to procedure.
• Perform as first scrub.
• Prepare room for next patient.
• Prepare instruments for decontamination.
• Maintain safe and clean environment 100% of the time.
