About The Position

Assists in preparing for and during surgery by performing routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the department and hospital to assure quality patient care. Employees of Sutter Health and its entities may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines. Requirements

  • HS Diploma: High School or General Education (GED) or equivalent education/experience
  • Completion of a formal accredited Operating Room Technician program
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • Basic knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and supplies.
  • Requires communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires flexibility to accommodate emergencies as well as changing schedules and priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years scrubbing experience at CPMC required
