The Surgical Technician will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of Surgeons, Registered Nurses, and Surgical Assistants, ensuring the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established standards and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical operations under supervision.
- Organize and maintain the daily function of the operating room.
- Prepare surgical instruments and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures.
- Maintain records of medications and specimens used during surgery.
- Assist in patient transfer to PACU if needed.
- Participate in continuing education and staff meetings.
- Help clean and restock the operating room.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff when needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two years of hospital main operating room experience preferred.
- Certification as a Surgical Technician preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
- Knowledge of Amkai Charts Database software and Microsoft Word.
