We provide a wide range of medical services and procedures, including comprehensive women’s services for the Northwest Las Vegas area. In addition to providing digital mammography, gynecologic care and gynecologic surgery, the Women’s Center pays special attention to new moms. During their stay, moms enjoy special menus, massages and afternoon teas. The Women's Center maternity services include labor, delivery and recovery rooms, antepartum and postpartum care, a newborn nursery and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Job Description: Assists surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, attends to the patients’ direct care needs. Accepts responsibility for his/her integrity with respect to maintenance and compliance, to policies. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, and other team members, with respect to the requirements of a particular surgical procedure. Demonstrates and maintains dexterity sufficient for successful completion of his/her assistant duties on each particular procedure. Maintains a professional attitude with respect to the dignity, privacy, and safety of the patient. Functions within the limits of his/her ability, and within the scope of practice set forth by the medical staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and appropriate state law.

Requirements

Technical School/2 Years College / Associate’s Degree: Surgical Technology, or program board eligible for SFA certification required.
Three to five (3-5) years surgical tech experience required.
A Continuing education programs to maintain and enhance clinical competencies related to perioperative or First Assisting practice.
Current CSFA certification (through NBSTSA), CSA (through NSAA), or SA-C certification (through ABSA) required.
Certification must be maintained for employment.
Current American Heart Association (BLS).
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patient.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Five to eight (5-8) years surgical tech experience preferred.
